About HRAGNH

Established in 1937, the Human Resources Association of Greater New Haven [HRAGNH] is a local affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management [SHRM]. Its purpose is to further the profession of Human Resources Management by providing a forum for the interchange of ideas and experiences for Human Resource professionals.

Our meetings provide opportunities for members to develop professionally, and build professional networks and relationships. Through our programs and workshops, the Association attempts to facilitate thought, learning, and improved practice in traditional and emerging HR practices.

Non-Solicitation Policy

Generally, HRAGNH members are strong supporters of our mission and very considerate of others. However, some members have felt inappropriately and/or uncomfortably solicited by certain other members. Therefore, we’ve found it necessary to establish guidelines for this type of activity.

Members are not to be openly solicited for business during chapter meetings. This means that:

  • Members and guests are not to introduce themselves for the purpose of selling their products/services during meetings.
  • Members and guests are not to leave promotional materials on meeting tables or openly distribute such during Association meetings.
  • It is permissible for a member to discuss his/her services or provide additional information to a prospective client member upon specific invitation/inquiry during Association meetings. Without express inquiry initiated by a member, solicitation is strictly prohibited during meetings.
  • It is understandable that members may selectively contact other members at their businesses during which time they may discuss their products or services. However, even on these occasions, they are to exercise good business judgment and avoid harassment.
  • The membership directory is not to be used as a solicitation tool. This means no member shall undertake a mass mailing campaign using the directory to sell his or her products or services.

Strict adherence to these guidelines will provide a comfortable, professional, and pleasant intimidation-free environment for all members.

In-Transition Meetings

The In-Transition Networking meeting has been established by the Human Resources Association of Greater New Haven (HRAGNH) and is facilitated by the Schegg Group.  These events were developed for HR Professionals who are in-transition. Participants are welcome to join the HRAGNH chapter but are not required to do so to participate in these free monthly networking meetings.  These meetings take place at the Schegg Group located at 1 Enterprise Drive, Suite 110 Shelton CT 06484.  If you would like to be added to their mailing list, contact them at 203-225-0500.
